Gas Prices Jump To $4 A Gallon
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — It's only February and gas prices in some areas have already reached $4 a gallon.
The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County Friday recorded its largest daily increase since Feb. 25, 2011, rising 4.9 cents to $3.996, the highest since June 7. According to the Automobile Club, several stations are already posting $4 per gallon for self-serve regular gas.
The average price has risen 25.2 cents over the past 24 days, including 3.3 cents on Thursday.
The Orange County average price also recorded its largest daily price increase since last year, increasing 5 cents to $3.989, its highest amount since June 4.
