Gas Prices Hover At Or Under $3 A Gallon In LA, Orange Counties
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — We don't want to jinx it, but has anyone else noticed that gas prices have been near or under $3 per gallon for more than a few weeks?
The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped again Wednesday to its lowest level since Feb. 21, decreasing eight-tenths of a cent to $3.018.
The average price is 2.7 cents less than a week ago, 32.8 cents lower than a month ago and 60 cents below what it was a year ago, according to the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service.
"I saw the prices of gas, and I was (thinking) it's cheap, so I might as well just get gas here," Anaheim resident Jeanett Sanchez said.
The Orange County average price dropped to its lowest amount since Feb. 20, decreasing 1 cent to $2.972 – 1.3 cents less than a week ago, 31.4 cents lower than a month ago and 62.1 cents lower than a year ago.
"I'm so excited about it, because I had to drive all the way from Moreno Valley," Tamiko Williams said. "So it's just really good to come here, fill up, and not have to break the bank."
