Gas Prices Hit Two Year High

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Gas prices in Los Angeles and Orange counties have hit their highest amount since the fall of 2008.

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose to its highest amount since Oct. 16, 2008 Thursday, increasing 1.1 cents for the second consecutive day to $3.37.

The average price is 1.9 cents more than a week ago, 5.1 cents higher than one month ago and 37.4 cents above what it was one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The Orange County average price rose to its highest amount since Oct. 14, 2008, increasing 1.3 cents to $3.37.
