Gas Prices Drop For 35th Consecutive Day In LA, Orange Counties
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped Thursday for the 35th consecutive day.
The price decreased nine-tenths of a cent to $3.177 making the average price 36 cents less than it was 35 days ago, according to the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The streak of drops was proceeded by 34 days of increases when the price rose $1.078.
Less than a week ago, the average price was 4.6 cents less. Thursday's price was 33.9 cents lower than one month ago and 96.3 cents below the price one year ago.
The average price for gasoline in Orange County also dropped for the 35th consecutive day, decreasing 12 cents to $3.133, officials said.
That price is 4.7 cents than one week ago, 36.5 cents lower than one month ago and 98.7 cents below what it was one year ago.
The streak of dropping prices was the longest in Orange County since a 47-day streak between Sept. 18 and Nov. 3, 2013.
