Gas Prices Continue To Climb Across Southland
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose Monday for the 13th consecutive day, increasing three-tenths of a cent to $4.078, the highest since Aug. 13, 2008.
The average price is 3.5 cents higher than a week ago, 22.5 cents above what it was one month ago and 98.7 cents greater than it was one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The average price is 54.8 cents less than the record high of $4.626 set on June 21, 2008.
The Orange County average price also rose for the 13th consecutive day, increasing to $4.067, the most since Aug. 11, 2008.
The Orange County average price is 3.7 cents more than a week ago, 22.3 cents higher than one month ago and 98.1 cents above what it was one year ago, but 53.1 cents less than the record high of $4.598 set on June 19, 2008.
