Gas Price Hikes End In Los Angeles County
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — After 20 days of consecutive increase in average gas prices, Friday morning the streak ended in Los Angeles County when the average remained unchanged.
Friday's average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline was at $4.115.
The average price of gas had risen 34 of the previous 35 days.
According to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service, the average price rose 10.2 cents in a week.
Prices are 37.6 cents more than July, and 40.5 cents higher than last year.
Orange County's average price rose Friday, increasing for its 20th consecutive day.
Gasoline prices started rising rapidly following a fire at the Chevron refinery in Richmond on August 6.
