Gas Leak Closes 215 Freeway Through Riverside
RIVERSIDE (CBSLA.com) — A gas leak forced the closure of both sides of the 215 Freeway early Friday morning.
A backhoe operator was doing construction work on the southbound freeway on-ramp at Center Street around 12:50 a.m. when he hit the 12-inch gas main, the Riverside County Fire Department said.

Crews doused the main with water to prevent a fire.
Nearby residents were advised to shelter in place.
