Gagik Melikyan Talks Food And Product Safety
STUDIO CITY (CBS/KCAL) — Antioxidants, supplements and natural compounds do a body good, right? Not according to a new book.
Gagik Melikyan, Professor of Chemistry at California State University Northridge, stopped by the KCAL 9 studios Thursday at noon to talk about how some seemingly beneficial substances can be harmful to your health. In his new book, Guilty Until Proven Innocent: Antioxidants, Foods, Supplements, and Cosmetics, he takes a hard look at products such as green tea, red wine and sunscreen, which are touted as essential for a long, healthy life, and convincingly demonstrates how they may, in fact, cut your life short.
