Funeral Service Held For Boy, 5, Killed On Halloween
GARDENA (CBS) — A funeral service will be held Friday for 5-year-old Aaron Shannon Jr., who was shot and killed in the backyard of his South L.A. home on Halloween.
The service, which will begin at City of Refuge in Gardena, will be followed by a 1 p.m. burial at Inglewood Park Cemetery.
Shannon was shot in the head while showing off his Spider-Man costume in the 1000 block of East 84th Street. His grandfather and uncle also were shot, but suffered only minor injuries.
Two reputed gang members, Marcus Denson, 18, and Leonard Hall Jr., 21, have each been charged with murder and two counts of attempted murder. They are expected to be arraigned next Friday.
The boy died from a single gunshot wound to the back of the head, according to Deputy District Attorney Larry Droeger.
Both men were being held on $4 million bail.
