Fundraiser To Be Held Tuesday For Woman Whose Daughter Was Killed In Crash With Pursuit Suspect
PALMDALE (CBSLA.com) — An all-day fundraiser will be held Tuesday for a woman whose 2-year-old daughter was killed in a collision with a pursuit suspect in the Antelope Valley earlier this month.
Madison Ruano was killed and her mother, Tina, injured on the evening of Dec. 6. in Lancaster.
According to Lancaster police, Marvin Travon Hicks, 45, slammed his Toyota into the Ruanos' Lexus on Avenue I and 10th Street West while trying to evade authorities.
The Ruanos were transported to a local hospital where Madison later died. Tina Ruano suffered non-life threatening injuries and is expect to make a full recovery.
Hicks has been charged with felony evading arrest and vehicular manslaughter.
The fundraiser will take place at the Outback Steakhouse, 1061 West Avenue P, in Palmdale, beginning at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
Madison's funeral is set for Friday, Dec. 21, at Lancaster Baptist Church.
