Fun., Frank Ocean Among Leading Nominees For 2013 Grammy Awards
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (CBSLA.com) — Nominations for the 2013 Grammy Awards were announced Wednesday night with FUN., Jay-Z, Mumford & Sons, Frank Ocean, Kanye West and The Black Keys' Dan Auerbach emerging as top contenders, garnering six nods apiece.
"This year's nominees truly represent an exceptional and vibrant creative community that exemplifies some of the highest levels of artistry and excellence in their respective fields," said Neil Portnow, President/CEO of The Recording Academy.
Recording artists LL Cool J and Taylor Swift announced the nominations during a one-hour CBS special, broadcast from Nashville. The show featured performances by Fun., Janelle Monáe, Hunter Hayes, Maroon 5, Ne-Yo, along with The Band Perry and Dierks Bentley in a special tribute to Johnny Cash.
The Black Keys, Chick Corea and Miguel each received five nods. Producer Jeff Bhasker, mastering engineer Bob Ludwig and Nas are each up for four awards.
The Black Keys, Fun., Mumford & Sons, Frank Ocean and Jack White are all vying for album of the year.
The 55th Annual Grammy Awards will be broadcast live on Feb. 10, 2013.
