Friends Mourn Mom Of 2 Gunned Down In Lynwood Liquor Store
LYNWOOD (CBSLA.com) — Friends are mourning a mother of two who was fatally shot during a robbery at a liquor store in Lynwood Thursday afternoon.
Deputies said 56-year-old Sun Hee, also known as Silvia Cho, was found on the floor of the business in the 11000 block of South Alameda Street around 3:40 p.m.
Homicide detectives said Cho, who owned the mini-mart with her husband for 15 years, was shot multiple times in the upper torso.
Authorities said there are no known witnesses and the surveillance system at the store wasn't working at the time of the crime.
Frank Jones, a security guard for the convenience store's parking lot, told KCAL9's Brittney Hopper that he knew Cho for more than a decade.
He said she was a sweet woman who took care of everyone in the neighborhood.
"It's just a tragedy. It's just sad," Jones said. "She never had any problems with anyone."
Heather Tebbs, the victim's next-door neighbor, said Cho would always give her a hug and constantly had a smile on her face.
"I'm really shocked to hear this," she said. "My heart goes out to her family."
