'Fresh & Easy' To Close Several Southland Stores
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Fresh & Easy is temporarily closing 12 underperforming stores across the Southwest.
The Orange County Register reports the company is closing stores in Fountain Valley and Anaheim within the next two weeks. There will also be closures in Hemet, Baldwin Park and Ontario.
"At this time, there is simply not enough growth in sales and customers at these stores to keep them open. We will close these stores over the coming weeks and we will re-open them when economic and business conditions warrant," company spokesman Brendan Wonnacott said late Monday.
However, the British-owned company is planning to open another 24 stores across the country.
