Freon Leak Prompts Temporary Evacuation Of Costco Wholesale In Hawthorne
HAWTHORNE (CBSLA.com) — A Costco Wholesale store in Hawthorne was temporarily evacuated following a freon leak.
The incident involving a refrigeration unit in the 14500 block of Hindry Avenue was reported Saturday afternoon.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department confirmed to CBS2 that two people were transported to area hospitals. Their conditions were not immediately known.
According to authorities, the leak was stopped as of 12:54 p.m. and the scene cleared by 2 p.m.
Customers have since been allowed back inside the store.
