Freeway Shooting Ties Up Traffic On I-10 In LA
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Police say a motorist fired at another man on a Los Angeles freeway onramp in what may have been a drug deal gone bad.
Officer Karen Rayner says the shooting Thursday afternoon near La Brea Avenue caused a traffic jam that tied up Interstate 10 during rush hour.
Rayner says an Infinity SUV rammed into a white Audi and both drivers got out of their vehicles. She says one of the men pulled out a handgun and fired at the other man. It's not clear if anyone was hit.
The shooter ran down an embankment and disappeared. The other man was taken into custody for alleged assault with a deadly weapon, the vehicle.
Rayner says detectives found a large quantity of narcotics at the scene.
