Free Agent Fisher Works Out With Lakers
EL SEGUNDO(CBSLA.com) Training camp is still two weeks away, but the Los Angeles Lakers held an informal workout Tuesday in El Segundo for their newcomers.
Derek Fisher, who is a free agent, was also in hand along with 1st-year Laker Steve Nash for the pre-training workouts.
Fisher was traded to the Houston Rockets last season, but then was released a few days later and picked up by the Oklahoma City Thunder off waivers.
"It's great to be able to come here a couple of weeks before training camps, and then have training camp," said veteran Antawn Jamison. "As a veteran you hate the eight preseason games, but this is a situation where it goes to your favor."
Dwight Howard(back) did not participate in any workouts and is expected to miss the preseason opener.
