Frank McCourt To Handle Dodgers Day-To-Day
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Dennis Mannion is out as president of the Los Angeles Dodgers, and owner Frank McCourt is set to resume handling the day-to-day operations of the team.
No reason was given for Mannion's departure that was announced Thursday.
In a written statement, the team said McCourt would take "a more direct and active role" in managing the Dodgers. Mannion had been running the team while McCourt has been going through a contentious divorce with his estranged wife, Jamie.
The trial ended Sept. 29 and a Superior Court judge has three months to decide whether McCourt is the sole owner of the team, as he claims, or Jamie is a co-owner.
