NEW YORK (AP) -- A person with knowledge of the deal says Fox has secured rights to the Pac-12's inaugural football championship game next season.

The person tells The Associated Press on Thursday that the deal for the 2011 game is valued at $25 million, and includes marketing rights and other programming benefits associated with the league's expansion from 10 to 12 teams.

The person spoke on condition of anonymity because financial details were not made public.

The Sports Business Journal first reported the deal.

No date has been decided for the game, although the person says it likely will be played on Dec. 3, giving Fox a doubleheader with the inaugural Big Ten title game.
