Four Teams Remain Winless In The NFL – Three Of Them Are Surprising

There are some surprising things going on in this still young NFL season. The defending Super Bowl champions are sitting at 2-2 and tied with the Cincinnati Bengals and Cleveland Browns – a Browns team that actually has control of the AFC North, four weeks into the season.
The defending NFC champion San Francisco 49ers are also 2-2, and they are tied with the 2-2 Arizona Cardinals for second in the NFC West. But the big problem there is that they are a full two games behind the 4-0 Seattle Seahawks in the divisional race.
Looking further down the ladder are the four remaining winless teams in the NFL. One of them is not really unexpected and that is the Jacksonville Jaguars. Another winless team happens to be the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and that isn't totally surprising, but many thought they'd have their first victory by now.
The two most shocking surprises are the winless New York Giants and Pittsburgh Steelers.
With that, take a look at each of the four remaining winless teams and see when they could possibly get their first win and how many victories they could end up with by the time the season is over.
Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jags are well on their way to the first overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, and it doesn't look like that will change. St. Louis is coming to town this week with a 1-3 record, but they're still playing better than Jacksonville. If the Jags don't beat the Rams, then their only real chance of victory comes in week 11 against the Arizona Cardinals, but that is doubtful too.
An 0-16 season is not out of the question.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Josh Freeman hasn't just been benched, but banned from the sidelines. Rookie Mike Glennon looked impressive in his first start, but the Bucs really don't have an easy schedule ahead of them. Tampa travels to Carolina in a few weeks and that is a good shot for their first victory, but not definite, and don't expect more than three or four wins all season.
New York Giants
Eli Manning and the Giants have been outscored 69-7 in the last two weeks. That is just frightening and not looking good for the G-Men. Philly is their next game, then Chicago, and then Minnesota. Honestly, the way the Giants are playing, Minnesota is their best shot at a win, but that's pushing it. It wouldn't surprise me to see New York stay winless until after their bye week and getting Oakland in week 10.
Look for three, maybe four wins this season.
Pittsburgh Steelers
Big Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers have the best chance at being the first to get their first victory as the New York Jets are coming to town in week six. They've also got a weak remaining schedule with the Jets, Browns twice, Bills, and a few others not playing up to par yet this season. Look for five or six wins for the Steelers this year, but no more.
