Four Fans Arrested After Kings Game Outside Staples Center
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Four people were arrested outside Staples Center Wednesday night as the Los Angeles Kings came up short in their bid for the city's first National Hockey League championship.
There were two arrests for battery, one for shoplifting and one for public drunkenness, according to Officer Cleon Joseph of the Los Angeles Police Department's Media Relations office.
Authorities said at least two Kings fans reported they had bought counterfeit tickets from fake scalpers.
The Kings lost the game to the New Jersey Devils 3-1.
The quest for the Stanley Cup now shifts to the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., where the Kings, who lead the best-of-seven series three games to one, will try to defeat the Devils Saturday and clinch the first championship
of their 45-year history.
If they do not win Saturday, game six would be played at Staples Center on Monday.
