Four people, two of which were juveniles, were arrested in San Bernardino County after allegedly trying to carjack a person during a road rage incident in early December.

It happened on Sunday, Dec. 8 at around 11:30 p.m., when deputies were called to the intersection of Jurupa Avenue and Alder Avenue in Bloomington, according to San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department deputies.

Upon arrival, they spoke with the victim of the alleged incident who was heading home after a shift at work, deputies said. He told them that three men in a white Dodge Ram pickup truck rammed his car and left damage to the side mirror while he was driving along the westbound I-10 offramp at Sierra Avenue.

"The subjects in the Ram followed the victim and pointed an assault rifle at him demanding his vehicle at the intersection of Jurupa Avenue & Alder Avenue," a statement from SBSD said. "The victim feared for his life, got away, and was able to call 9-1-1."

Deputies broadcast the information to surrounding agencies and requested assistance from the department's helicopter near where the truck was last seen, the statement said.

Fontana Police Department officers reported that they had found a truck matching the description in the South Ridge area, where the driver was eventually detained. They say that two of the other occupants of the vehicle ran away on foot.

"Sheriff's Aviation located the two subjects running in a dirt area and guided Fontana Station deputies toward their direction," the statement said. "The two subjects running were picked up by a white newer model vehicle and headed toward Jurupa Avenue & Santa Ana Avenue, in Fontana."

The aviation team continued to follow the car until deputies finally pulled the driver over.

The driver of that car, 19-year-old April Campos, was detained, along with a juvenile suspect and an 18-year-old suspect named Angel Ruiz. Deputies conducted an "infield line up with the victim" who positively identified them as two of the people inside the truck that pointed the firearm at him. The victim also positively identified the driver of the truck as the third suspect in the incident.

"Deputies conducted an inventory search of the white Ram truck and located an unserialized assault style rifle, known as a ghost gun, with a high-capacity magazine inside the truck," SBSD's statement said.

Camps and Ruiz were arrested and booked at West Valley Detention Center. The two juvenile suspects were arrested and taken to San Bernardino County Juvenile Hall where they were also booked.

Anyone who knows more about the incident is asked to contact the Fontana Sheriff's Station.
