Former 'Survivor' Producer Fights Extradition Order
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Attorneys for a former "Survivor" producer charged with killing his wife in Mexico are asking a federal judge to overturn an order that says he should be extradited from Los Angeles to stand trial.
The filing Monday by attorneys for Bruce Beresford-Redman comes roughly two months after a U.S. magistrate judge ruled there was probable cause to support an aggravated homicide charge against the producer.
Beresford-Redman's attorneys are now asking a U.S. district judge to overturn that ruling because they claim are there are numerous inconsistencies in the evidence.
Beresford-Redman is accused of killing his wife at a swank Cancun resort in April 2010.
His attorneys argue there is no physical evidence showing Beresford-Redman killed his wife and that authorities drew conclusions based on the couple's marital troubles.
