Former Substitute Teacher Arrested For Sex Crimes With Teen
FONTANA (CBSLA.com) — A former substitute teacher for the Jurupa Valley Unified School District was free on a $55,000 bond Thursday after he was arrested for sex crimes with an underage girl.
Jason Stubbs, 27, of Eastvale, was arrested Wednesday while working at a school in Fontana, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department said.
According to Jurupa Valley Unified, the alleged incident involving Stubbs, who is an aspiring rapper, and a 17-year-old former female student occurred earlier in 2013.
Students tell CBS2 that Stubbs was recently employed as a substitute teacher at Jurupa Valley High School, but records indicate he was released by the school in April.
"The investigation revealed he was no longer working for the Jurupa Valley Unified School District; however, he was currently employed by the Fontana School District," Sgt. Mike Manning said in a statement.
Stubbs was booked at the Robert Presley Detention Center on charges of unlawful sex with a minor, sodomy with a person under 14 and sexual penetration by force, according to jail records.
He is expected in court on Oct. 16.
Investigators believe there may be more potential victims, as Stubbs reportedly used social media to communicate with and meet minors.
