Former Norco RB Lewis Forced To Redshirt After Gunshot Wound
(CBS) -- Arizona State Sophomore Running back Deantre Lewis announced via twitter on Thursday that he will redshirt this season after getting shot by a stray bullet this February in Norco.
Lewis was home in Southern California to see the birth of his niece when he was wounded in the leg.
As a true freshman in 2010, Lewis totaled over 900 yards rushing and receiving with 6 touchdowns.
He has practiced this season, but his participation has been limited.
Lewis will have three more seasons of eligibility.
#18 Arizona State heads to Eugene, Oregon to battle the #9 Ducks on Saturday night.
