Former NFL Tight End Leaves Jail After 3 Days Of 30-Day DUI Conviction
TORRANCE (CBSLA.com) — Jerramy Stevens, a former NFL tight end and husband of Hope Solo the starting goalie for the U.S. Women's National Soccer Team, was released from jail Sunday after serving three days of a 30-day sentence for a DUI conviction.
TMZ first reported the story of the early release.They also reported Stevens was released early due to good behavior behind bars.
Stevens, 35, had surrendered to authorities at the Torrance courthouse on Thursday and was released at 1:12 p.m. from custody, according to L.A. County jail records.
Stevens, who played for the Seattle Seahawks and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, was arrested in Manhattan Beach on January 19 for drunken driving while piloting the Team USA soccer van. His wife, Hope Solo, was a passenger in the van at the time and was not jailed.
Stevens was released on $5,000 bail and went back to court in March.
The former football player has had several run-ins with the law over the last 15 years. Those arrests and convictions included reckless driving, hit-and-run and driving under the influence, according to the Daily Breeze. He was also arrested for punching bouncers, and domestic violence involving his wife.
Solo recently had domestic violence charges dropped against her, after she was accused of beating her half sister and a nephew.
According to TMZ, Stevens is now on four years probation and must complete a two-year outpatient alcohol treatment program.
