Former LAPD Officer Pleads Not Guilty To Murder Charges
LOS ANGELES (AP) — A former Los Angeles police officer charged with killing a man outside a bar while off-duty has pleaded not guilty to murder and other charges.
City News Service says Henry Solis entered his pleas Friday and remains jailed in lieu of $10 million bail.
In addition to murder, the 27-year-old faces charges including assault with a firearm and an allegation that he personally discharged a handgun.
Solis returned to California in June after a two-month manhunt. He was arrested in Mexico and deported to Texas.
He was wanted in the shooting death of 23-year-old Salome Rodriguez following a dispute at a Pomona nightclub in March.
Solis was a probationary officer at the time.
He could face a potential life prison term if convicted.
