Former LAPD Officer Named Suspect In Irvine Double Homicide
IRVINE (CBSLA.com) — Irvine police on Wednesday named Christopher Dorner, a former Los Angeles Police Officer, as a suspect in a double homicide.

Stacey Butler, reporting for CBS2 and KCAL9, said police believe that Dorner was targeting the daughter of Randy Quan, a retired LAPD officer who acted as Dorner's attorney at a 2008 hearing that accused him of making false statements against another officer. Dorner denied the charge but was ultimately fired from the department.
Police said Dorner murdered Quan's 28-year-old daughter, Monica, Sunday to retaliate. He implicated himself in the murders in a long, rambling, often angry 20-page manifesto on Facebook. He wrote, "I never had the opportunity to have a family of my own, I'm terminating yours."
Autopsies on Quan and her 27-year-old fiance, Keith Lawrence, have been completed, said Jim Amormino of the Orange County Sheriff's Department.
"The coroner determined that both died of multiple gunshot wounds," Amormino said.
In the rambling manifesto, Dorner said his life ended when police fired him and it ended "again" when the Navy let him go this month.
Police who received a call at 9:10 p.m. Sunday about a person slumped over in a parked car at 2100 Scholarship. Authorities found the recently engaged couple dead in Lawrence's Kia, which was parked at the top of the five-story structure for the building where they lived.
Dorner is described as 6 feet tall, 270 pounds and "likely armed and dangerous." His last known address was in La Palma. Dorner is believed to be in a Nissan Titan license plate 7X03191.
Wednesday the LAPD issued a statement that read in part "The Los Angeles Police Department is working in coordination with the Irvine Police Department regarding the investigation related to Christopher Jordan Dorner ... The Department has learned that Christopher Dorner has made threats against members of the LAPD and we are taking those threats very seriously as we do all threats against our personnel and the public."
They added, "The only information that the Department will confirm regarding Dorner's previous employment is that he was employed as a police officer from February 7, 2002 until September 4, 2008 when his employment with the Department terminated."
