Former Laker Adam Morrison Just Gets Weirder; This Time, It Involves An Apocalypse Bunker

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Former Gonzaga and Los Angeles Lakers player Adam Morrison made headlines Friday after current Gonzaga player Kyle Wiltjer told an interesting story about Morrison during an interview.
Morrison worked as an assistant coach at Gonzaga for a period during Wiltjer's red-shirt year with the team.
After transferring from Kentucky, Wiltjer was forced to sit out a season, during which he and Morrison became close.
Wiltjer told this story on "Pardon My Take" on Friday.
"I don't wanna compare myself to him. Let me give you a brief example of this: The guy is fully equipped if there was an apocalypse. He's got food stashed away, everything
. So, he could survive everything. ... Guns, everything. He's got a bunker. Everything," Wiltjer said.
"I haven't fully seen it. I've just heard the myth, and I've talked to him about it. But he's definitely fully equipped. He's got food, everything, if anything went down. He thinks something's going down with politics or something, because if you ever ask him a political question, you will get a great answer. … He thinks everyone is corrupt, basically," he added.
Morrison rose to fame in part to his success with Gonzaga, but mostly for his "mustache," long hair and overall outlandish appearance and emotions on the court.
He was infamously selected third overall in the 2006 NBA Draft with the Charlotte Hornets, and is regarded as one of the biggest busts in NBA draft history.
He was, however. also a member of two championship Lakers teams in 2009 and 2010.
Well, if you thought he couldn't get any weirder, think again.
Current Washington Wizards forward Jared Dudley had some interesting things to say about him when he reflected on their time together as teammates on the '08-'09 Charlotte Bobcats.
"Remember Adam Morrison? He never took showers, he did the chewing tobacco that he spit all the time, and he wore the same three polos the whole year. This is a guy who made a lot of money, too, at that time," Dudley said.
"He was by far the worst and [most] disgusting. He was playing like 30 minutes a game. Gerald Wallace had to force him to take a shower one time. Had to force him. Imagine that. Imagine forcing a grown man to take a shower. He should be ashamed of himself" Dudley added.
But for all that weirdness, Morrison is still probably, actually definitely, doing a lot better than most of us.
The man somehow made $16.9 million JUST IN NBA salaries, which does not include bonuses or endorsements.
Keep in mind his face donned the cover of NCAA March Madness '07, back when they were still allowed to make those games.
Morrison also signed endorsements with Topps, Adidas and Electronic Arts before the 2007 NBA Draft.
For those who saw the movie "10 Cloverfield Lane," imagine if instead of John Goodman in the bunker, they cast Morrison for the same role.
That $38 million the movie has grossed so far would have already topped the $100 million mark.
Now THAT is a movie idea. You get all the Apocalypse / end of world movie fans, plus a whole new group of sports fans who simply could not miss Morrison's debut on the big screen.
The man just makes it too easy for writers like myself to roast and criticize almost everything he does.
But don't worry, Adam. When aliens invade while the Earth is simultaneously being relentlessly nuked by North Korea, you will be the one sitting in your bunker, championship rings and all, laughing at us.
