Former Bell Manager Robert Rizzo Sells His Huntington Beach Home
HUNTINGTON BEACH (AP) — The man authorities say masterminded a scheme to loot millions from the working-class suburb of Bell has sold his Huntington Beach house.
Pier Realty agent Bill Cuppy tells the Orange County Register the two-story house owned by Robert Rizzo sold for $939,000, which is $40,000 below the asking price earlier this year.
Rizzo bought the 3,250-square-foot home in the city's tony Seacliff section for $1.13 million in 2007. A tentative sale earlier this year fell out of escrow.
There's no information on the buyer.
Prosecutors say Rizzo, the former Bell city manager, orchestrated a scheme to bilk the Los Angeles suburb out of more than $6 million. Rizzo, who had an annual salary and compensation package of $1.5 million, has pleaded not guilty.
