Flight Schedules Return To Normal At LAX Following Deadly SFO Plane Crash
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — San Francisco-bound flights out of Los Angeles International Airport were back on schedule Monday morning following Saturday's deadly plane crash at SFO, officials said.
There were no reports of cancellations or delays through noon, however, Southwest Airlines reported that a handful of afternoon flights were canceled or delayed.
LAX Flights Delayed Following Deadly SFO Plane Crash
Passengers were advised to check flight statuses before arriving at LAX.
Asiana Airlines Flight 214 crashed at SFO around 11:30 a.m. Saturday, killing two 16-year-old girls from China and injuring more than 180 other passengers.
All flights in and out of SFO were canceled in the hours following the crash. At LAX, 43 arriving and departing flights were canceled.
As of Sunday night, one-third of the total 103 departing and arriving flights between LAX and San Francisco International Airport were canceled.
Other flights that were scheduled to operate were experiencing hours-long delays.
Three of the four runways at SFO have been reopened. The cause of the plane crash was under investigation.
