Flash Flood Warnings In Effect For Cities Across LA County
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Flash flood warnings are in effect for northeastern and south central Los Angeles counties as a result of torrential rainfall, according to the National Weather Service.
The warning for the cities of Lancaster, Palmdale, Actor and the Crown burn area was expected to be in effect until 7 p.m.
Elsewhere, a flash flood warning remained in effect until 6 p.m. for Sierra Madre, Pasadena, Monterey Park, Montebello, Downtown, Glendale, El Monte, Downey and Compton.
A flash flood warning means that flooding and debris flows are imminent or occurring, according to the NWS.
Residents living in or immediately downstream should take immediate precautions, such as moving to the highest location in their home and staying out of the path of fast-moving water and debris flows.
