Firefighters Battle Blaze Inside Vacant Van Nuys Apartment Complex
VAN NUYS (CBSLA.com) — Officials say a fire is burning inside a vacant two-story apartment complex in Van Nuys.
The structure included five separate units with three of them fully-involved in flames when firefighters arrived on scene, said Erik Scott with the LAFD.
The apartment complex is located on Halbrent Avenue. Scott said two units are located at 5703 Halbrent, one is located at 5707 Halbrent and one at 5700 Sepulveda Boulevard.
There are no reports of injuries.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by arson investigators.
Scott said the fire was knocked down in about 34 minutes with 45 firefighters dispatched to the location.
