3-Alarm Blaze Damages Strip Mall In Whittier
WHITTIER (CBSLA.com) — Firefighters Tuesday battled a three-alarm fire at a strip mall in Whittier.
The blaze, which started at a laundromat located at 15035 Leffingwell Road in the southern portion of the city, was reported at 3:15 a.m., the Los Angeles County Fire Department said.
It quickly spread to nearby businesses, engulfing the strip mall and causing the roof to collapse.
One firefighter suffered a minor injury, officials said.
The fire was knocked down at 5:24 a.m.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
