Firefighter Injured While Battling Commercial Blaze In Chatsworth
CHATSWORTH (CBS) — A firefighter was injured early Tuesday morning while battling a blaze at a commercial structure in Chatsworth.
The fire in the 9600 block of Cozycroft Avenue was reported at 12:15 a.m., according to Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The injured firefighter suffered second-degree burns to as much as nine percent of his body, including his hands and chest, he said. He was taken to West Hills Hospital, where he was treated and later released.
It took 118 firefighters roughly an hour to knock down the blaze, which destroyed the structure's roof.
The structure houses several businesses, including a gymnasium, wholesale gift and metal-working shops.
