Fire Rages Through Salvage Yard In Sun Valley
SUN VALLEY (AP) — A fire burned through stacks of cars in a salvage yard and sent a huge plume of smoke soaring above Sun Valley Friday before firefighters got it under control.
City fire spokesman Brian Humphrey said firefighters arrived to find five cars burning shortly after 4 p.m. at the yard in the Sun Valley area, and after several small explosions it had spread to about 20 cars.
Humphrey says the junked cars had mostly been drained of gas and other fluids, and there was no danger to people in the industrial area.
There were no injuries or evacuations.
