Fire Crews Battling House Fire In Sun Valley

SUN VALLEY (CBSLA) - Firefighters battled a house fire in the 8800 block of Ilex Avenue in Sun Valley Saturday that threatened other structures in the area, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart said.

The blaze was reported just after 6 p.m. Stewart said the fire burned down a portion of a converted garage and damaged a vehicle parked in a carport. The house suffered major damage and at least two sides of the converted garage were seriously burned.

LAFD sent 76 firefighters to the scene who were able to extinguish the flames in just under an hour. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire, along with how much damage it's done is not yet known.
