FIFA Unhappy With Brazil's Progress For 2014 World Cup
BAGSHOT, England (AP) -- FIFA's secretary general has serious concerns about Brazil's lack of progress on infrastructure to prepare for the 2014 World Cup.
Ahead of a visit next week, Jerome Valcke says "things are not working in Brazil ... a lot of things (are) late."
FIFA's top administrator questioned why there's not "more support ... more enthusiasm" from the authorities to complete the stadiums, hotels and transport networks.
Valcke believes Brazil's priority "is to win the World Cup. I'm not sure it's about organizing the World Cup."
He is frustrated by "endless discussions" about the World Cup bill in Brazil and concerns that FIFA would gain too much power.
