Trutanich Concedes To Feuer For City Attorney; Zine Trails Galperin In Controller Race
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) – Carmen Trutanich conceded to Mike Feuer late Tuesday night in the contest for the next city attorney of Los Angeles, while an "outsider" was leading a veteran for the new city controller.
With 56 percent of precincts reporting, former Assemblyman Feuer earned 61.4 percent of the vote for city attorney compared to incumbent Trutanich's 39 percent.
"It's been a great campaign with support from throughout the city of Los Angeles. It's been a big honor for me to be in neighborhoods throughout LA…meeting with people who are looking for change in city leadership, looking for change in the city attorney's office," said Feuer.
As for city controller, Councilman Dennis Zine had 44.6 percent of the vote compared to attorney Ron Galperin's 55.4 percent.
In the primary, Zine, who campaigned as an "experienced veteran," finished a few hundred votes behind Galperin.
