FBI Links So-Called 'Mr. Magoo Bandit' to 12 Robberies
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — The so-called "Mr. Magoo Bandit" is now being linked to twelve bank robberies throughout California.
In a news release issued Saturday, the Federal Bureau of Investigation says the suspect most recently held up a bank in Thousand Oaks. That robbery occurred on Oct. 8.
He is also wanted for eleven other bank robberies throughout the state, including one in Camarillo on Sept. 27, the FBI says.
Law enforcement officials in Los Angeles, San Francisco and San Diego, as well as the FBI, are searching for the suspected bank robber, who witnesses describe as having a calm demeanor.
The suspect, described by authorities as a white male with a medium build, is in his 40s and weighs approximately 200 pounds. He is bald and wears prescription glasses, the FBI says.
