FBI Hunts For '710 Lady Bandit' Bank Robber

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — The FBI is on the hunt for a female bank robber they have dubbed the "710 Lady Bandit."

The name apparently comes from the fact the woman has robbed banks on the east and west sides of the 710 Freeway in Downey and Bell.

The FBI released surveillance photos of the woman Monday.

She allegedly held up banks in Downey on October 11 and in Bell on the 16th, according to FBI spokesperson Laura Eimiller.

During the Downey robbery, the woman may have been wearing a wig to disguise her identity, according to the FBI. In both robberies, she passed a note to the teller demanding cash.

Witnesses described the suspect as a black woman between 34 and 42, 5 feet 7 to 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing 140 to 150 pounds.

Anyone with information about her identity or whereabouts was asked to call (888) 226-8443 or dial 911.
