Fatal Hit-And-Run Suspect Wanted By Long Beach Police

LONG BEACH (CBS) — Long Beach police need the public's help in tracking down a murder suspect who detectives say intentionally mowed down a man, dragged him a short distance, then fled the scene of the accident without his car.

Francisco Javier Saucedo, 22, allegedly took aim at 27-year-old Yon Chreng of Long Beach after hitting a parked car in the 1100 block of Stanley Avenue on March 24. Chreng was trying to wave him down to keep him from fleeing.

That's when detectives say Saucedo aimed his truck at Chreng, struck him, dragged him a short distance then struck three more parked cars before fleeing on foot.

Chreng was declared dead at the scene.

Saucedo is described as a Hispanic male, 5-foot-6, weighing 160 pounds. He is bald with brown eyes and his last known city of residence is Gardena, but has ties to the Hawthorne area, Long Beach police say.

Long Beach police say anyone who comes into contact with Saucedo should call 911 immediately. Anyone with information about the case can call detectives at (562) 570-7244.
