Fatal Big-Rig Crash Shuts Down 126 Freeway Near Santa Clarita
SANTA CLARITA (CBSLA.com) — Two people were killed in a big rig crash west of Santa Clarita.
The crash, which was reported about 9:30 a.m. on SR-126 near Chiquito Canyon Road, also spilled one truck's haul of lemons all over the roadway.
Two people died at the scene, county fire Inspector Randall Wright said. A third person was taken to a hospital with injuries of unknown severity, he said.
The names of the dead were withheld, pending notification of their relatives.
The highway remained closed while authorities investigated and crews worked to clear the scene.
