Apparent Facebook Confession Linked To Woman Wanted As Person Of Interest In San Bernardino Murder

SAN BERNARDINO (CBSLA.com) — A woman wanted as a person of interest in a fatal San Bernardino stabbing has been linked to a murder confession posted on Facebook.

Nakasia James, 18, is being sought as a person of interest in the murder of 21-year-old Dorian Powell, who was found stabbed to death at 2085 N. Central Ave. in San Bernardino Monday. San Bernardino police had been called to the home at 2:35 a.m. to a report that the victim had been stabbed by his girlfriend.

Homicide detectives say that while the stabbing did appear to be related to a domestic disturbance inside the apartment, there were no previous calls or related incidents at the location.

Screenshots surfaced of an apparent Facebook post from an account under the name Nakasia Macc James, which described a domestic fight with a drunk boyfriend she named as Dorian Powell.

The Facebook post read in part: "…hit mee in the face and we was really fightn and I gt the knife and stabbed him ddnt think I would hurt him BT I did he died and I'm on the run pigs lookn for me…" (sic) The post has since been removed.

There was no immediate confirmation that James authored the Facebook post.

"We really don't know for sure who made that post," said San Bernardino Police Department Lt. Rich Lawhead. "Anybody could have access to a post on Facebook."

San Bernardino police confirmed that James is aware she is being sought in connection with Powell's murder.

Anyone with information about the crime or the whereabouts of James can contact Detective Lewis at (909) 384-5762 or Sgt. Kokesh at (909) 384-5615.
