Edwards was convicted of sexually assaulting two girls who attended the Menifee Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he served as bishop.
A third victim came forward, but the crime was beyond the statute of limitations.
After a plea deal, a charge of witness intimidation was dismissed.
