Ex-Maywood Cop Sentenced To 19 Years For Sexually Assaulting 5 Women
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A former Maywood Police Department officer was sentenced Tuesday to 19 years in prison for sexually assaulting five women while on the job.
Ryan Allen West pleaded no contest May 15 to two counts of forcible rape and four counts of sexual penetration with a foreign object.
In 2007, authorities began to investigate West after one of the victims went to a hospital and said she was raped by a cop.
West, who worked as a canine handler officer until March 2008, was taken into custody in mid-2008 and charged with sexual crimes committed between September 2006 and May 2007.
He was originally charged with attacks on three women, but was later charged with incidents involving two others.
