Ex-LAPD Officer Charged With Murder Booked Into Pomona Jail

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com/AP) — Authorities say a former Los Angeles police officer charged with killing a man while off-duty has been booked at the Pomona city jail.

Henry Solis was being escorted by detectives and was booked into Pomona's jail Thursday afternoon, according to Pomona police Deputy Chief Michael Olivieri.

In a message posted on Twitter, Olivieri described the extradition as "successful without any issues."

The 27-year-old Solis will remain at the Pomona jail until his arraignment on Friday.

After that, he'll be transported to a Los Angeles County jail, where he'll await a preliminary hearing, the Associated Press reported.

Solis was arrested last week in Mexico after evading authorities for more than two months.

He was sought in the shooting death of 23-year-old Salome Rodriguez following a dispute outside a nightclub in Pomona on March 13.

It wasn't immediately known if he has a lawyer.
