Ex-Financial Controller Gets 13 Years For Embezzlement
NEWPORT BEACH (AP) — The former financial controller of an Orange County architectural firm has been sentenced to 13 years in state prison for embezzling nearly $2 million by stealing from corporate accounts and the personal account of a firm owner.

The Orange County district attorney's office says Salvatory Fulwider also was ordered Friday to pay some $7.2 million in fines and restitution.
Fulwider worked as the financial controller for Irvine-based McLarand Vasquez Emsiek & Partners Inc. from November 2003 to March 2009.
The district attorney's office says Fulwider transferred over $1.3 million from the personal bank account of one of the owners and used more than $550,000 of the stolen money to pay his personal credit card balance.
He pleaded guilty in February to two felony counts of grand theft and other charges.
