Eukanuba, Iams Pet Foods Recalled Over Salmonella Concerns
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Proctor & Gamble is voluntarily recalling several brands of its pet food over salmonella concerns, according to the Food and Drug Administration.
The recall includes Eukanuba and Iams dog and cat foods that were made during a 10-day period at a single manufacturing site, the FDA reports.
The items were sold at pet and retail stores across the country.

Salmonella-tainted pet food can not only sicken animals, but also humans handling the contaminated product. Infected pets can also spread the illness to other animals, as well as humans.
Symptoms can include vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain and fever, according to the FDA.
