ET: Jonathan Rhys Meyers Did Not Attempt Suicide

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Despite several conflicting reports, Entertainment Tonight confirms that "The Tudors" star Jonathan Rhys Meyers did not attempt suicide.

"The Sun" is reporting that Meyers was found on the floor of his home after paramedics responded to an emergency call on Tuesday.

"We can confirm we were called by the London Ambulance Service around 8 in the evening on Tuesday to an address in NW8 following a report to a man refusing treatment," Scotland Yard tells ET. "Police attended, and the 33-year-old man was taken by ambulance to a central London hospital. That was the end of our involvement."

Although it was assumed the actor had tried to take his own life, a source close to Meyers tells ET that it was not a suicide attempt, but rather a relapse in his sobriety.

He was hospitalized and released.
