Equipment Failure Knocks Out Power In Santa Monica
SANTA MONICA (CBS) — About 50 power customers on the Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica were without electricity Monday, and service could remain down until as late as 2 a.m. Tuesday, according to Lois Pitter Bruce of Southern California Edison.
More than 2,000 customers were initially affected by a large outage, caused by an underground equipment failure.
The mall area in the vicinity of Fourth and Second streets, Santa Monica Boulevard and California Avenue has not had power restored, she said.
